Bordeaux mixture

Some important information about the Bordeaux mixture prepared from copper sulphate and calcium hydroxide

• Bordeaux mixture is an outstanding fungicide and bactericide
• It is only a non-systemic fungicide so apply it well before the fungal attack
• Do not spray Bordeaux mixture in hot weather. It may cause yellowing, leaf drop, leaf burn.
• Bordeaux is not compatible with most of the pesticides.
• It is long lasting and the deposit is highly durable.
• Always use weaker mixture on tender and sensitive plants.
• Never keep the prepared Bordeaux for the next day as it quality deteriorates.
• Always use high grade technical copper sulphate and hydrated lime with high percentage of available lime for preparing Bordeaux.
• Mix the right quantities of copper sulphate solution and hydrated lime slurry for better results.
